How does it work?

We make it easy. You plan your event and hire us. We come to your event and photograph it. Afterward, we’ll send you a gallery of processed proof images and you’ll choose which ones you like and want retouched ahead of purchasing.

What are “processing” and “retouching”?

Processing refers to simple and quick edits on all images. Weeding out blurry shots or unflattering angles, straightening, and basic color correction all fall under processing.

Retouching involves more intensive editing on a smaller number of images. Perfecting skin tone, removing blemishes, whitening teeth, and enhancing eye color are examples of retouching.

How do I receive my photos?

We use Dropbox to share proof images. You’ll get a link to access a password-protected folder and can view or download images from there, no account sign-up necessary.

Once we’ve retouched, we send the full-resolution, de-watermarked files through Dropbox or, for a $20 fee, we can mail you a USB stick.

What’s the experience like?

Performance is our passion (besides photography, of course). We understand the ins and outs of a theatrical or musical show and have years of backstage experience. This makes us uniquely at-ease in our surroundings.

That said, we are not event planners, stage managers, wardrobe advisers, et cetera. Our job is to capture beautiful images of your performance.

How much does it cost?

We break pricing down by 1) time spent shooting and 2) time spent retouching. Our standard rates are $200/hr. for time spent on-site photographing a show and $50 per retouched image.

We typically arrive 30 minutes before curtain call and require a 2-hour minimum commitment.

How do I pay?

When you sign your contract with us, you will also pay a non-refundable $200 deposit, which will be applied toward the total cost of photography. The remaining amount is due the day of the performance and no photos will be delivered until all outstanding balances are paid.

Our payment options, in order of preference, are check (made out to N Squared Photography LLC), cash, online invoice, or PayPal.

How soon do I get my images?

We’ll send the folder of proof images within a week of your event. Depending on how many photos you’d like retouched, it might take us an additional 10-12 days to get those turned around.
